General Carpentry

1. Build walkway and stairs between hotel buildings.
2. Frame in, drywall, etc. volunteer housing apartment

Plumbing

1. Install water softener in Lakeview Lodge

Concrete Work

1. Pour cement steps from parking low to hotel buildings
2. Pour cement slab to repair pool deck

Demolition Work

1. Remove cement stairs from parking lot to hotel buildings
2. Cut out retaining wall from between hotel buildings

Electrical

1. Path lighting from Lakeview Lodge to Activity Center
2. Wire Volunteer Housing when framing is completed

Grounds

1. Trail maintenance – clear downed trees, brush, etc.
2. Cut firewood for summer campfires and fireplaces in staff homes
3. Clear invasive plants to restore original Illinois woods & prairies
4. Replace log benches at campfire rings and at High & Low Ropes course
5. Haul gravel from gravel pit to Menno Haven

Office

1. Assemble mailings (call for dates)
2. Computer data entry

Guest hosting

1. Help host rental groups on weekends and weekdays

Facilitators needed

1. Trained facilitators to lead our Adventure Education Course

Medical Providers still needed!

We are still looking for volunteer certified nurses, doctors, EMT’s, PA’s, etc for two weeks of our upcoming summer camp season. If you are willing to give of your time, please contact Erika at program@mennohaven.com or fill our the application. Remember, if you volunteer as a Medical Provider for one week your child can come to camp for half price, volunteer for two weeks and your child can come for FREE! Below you will see a brief summary of duties:

A) Receive medicines and talk with parents at Sunday check in.
B) Dispense medicines at appropriate times during the week
C) Be available 24 hours a day for medical emergencies.
D) Along with Program Director, determine when a camper needs more medical attention than we can provide.
